As part of this year’s Village cooperation programme the Membury History Society has put together a small but fascinating display in the Gallery. It covers the Parish’s rich history from fossils to the modern day, spanning Neolithic man, the Iron Age, Romans, Anglo Saxons, Doomsday, Revolutions, Village Life and WW2. The story of this Parish is told with artefacts, coins, photographs and short articles and is a microcosm of British history .
