The Raising of the Glove is an annual ceremony held on the Minster Green to mark the granting of the town’s charter to hold eight days of fairs every year. The event was the inspiration for The Cherry Fayre and this year opens the eight-day festival. Come down to Trinity Square, the Market and the Church Green on Thursday 21st June for the official ceremony at 11am. You’ll also see Axminster Heritage Centre volunteers in dressed ‘ in character’ parading around the Minister.
