Location

Thomas Whitty House can be found on Silver Street, Axminster, Devon, EX13 5AH. This is the road leading off  Trinity Square by the Minster Church.  The Lyme Street Car Park behind us is now run by East Devon District Council (EDDC), rather than National Car Parks (NCP).  The next  nearest car park is Coombe Lane (behind Cinnamons, on South Street ) with entry from Coombe Lane or South Street. You cannot enter the Coombe Lane Car Park from Church Street because it is one way and you must turn right.  West Street (COOP) Car Park opposite the Axminster Guildhall is also close by.

If you are arriving by train, take a left from the station entrance and walk towards the town centre. Go straight across at the roundabout and you will see Pets at Home on your right. Continue walking up West Street, past the Axminster Guildhall on your left.  As you approach the heart the of the town you will see a big noticeboard on the Minster Green.

You then have two options:

1. Continue towards Trinity Square and walk up the steps to the Minster Green, past the Minster Church towards the Conservative Club. Axminster Heritage is the building to the right of the Conservative Club, opposite the dentist.

2. Turn right into Church Street and follow the road up, past the Axminster Medical Centre on your right. Take a left at the Axminster Inn and you will find the Axminster Heritage Centre a little further down on your right.
